Review
16mm, b/w, sound, 3:00, 2004

The hand-drawn film Review combines headlines about the war in Iraq with interjections from major operas and receipts from movie tickets and film rentals from the fall of 2003. The dates of the headlines and the film receipts are the same, connecting a daily experience of tragic news with a subsequent escape into cinematic entertainment.
Review was commissioned by the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art (Ridgefield, Connecticut, USA) for Aldrich at the Movies, an exhibition in local cinemas and at the museum. The film was screened as a trailer in cinemas before regular commercial films from May - September, 2004, and was on view in the renovated Aldrich Museum from September, 2004 - January 2005.
- Awards: Honorable Mention, Impakt Festival, Utrecht, 2005
- Selected Screenings: Seattle International Film Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival.
